I weighed in at work this morning and I'm down 2lbs in the challenge. Go me. I have 5 more to lose by May 2nd- just under 4wks. The pot is now $100 since we got 10 people in on it and there's still the 1/2 day off if I meet my goal.

I can't tell you how much it burns me to sit and hear people complain about their weight and how they can't seem to lose anything...while they're eating Steak-n-Shake fries and dipping them in cheese sauce. I'm not kidding. Yesterday I sat around the lunch table eating my ground turkey and spagetti squash while every other woman was eating KFC or Steak-n-Shake. Now, I don't care what everyone else eats, that's their body and their life. But it above drove me up the wall to hear each of them complain about their weight while shoving greasy fried foods down their throats. I also heard from a couple of them "This is all I'll eat all day yet I still can't lose". Hmmmmm, maybe b/c your body is holding onto every morsel you shovel in, thinking it could be the last. Their metabolisms are probably CRAWLING. If asked, I would explain that their way of thinking is crazy, but everyone seems to think you can only eat a piece of celery and a rice cake to lose weight. It's frustrating how uneducated some people are on this subject. Up until about 2yrs ago, I didn't know much either. So I guess everyone needs a little help at first- but an open mind and good attitude is just as important, if not more. I think some people just aren't willing to do what it takes to lose weight. They aren't willing to workout or give up their burgers and fries for lean proteins with fruits and veggies. I can't even count the number of times people have stuck their nose up when I've said to eat more fruits and veggies. Like I'm telling them the only way to lose weight is so eat rotten eggs for every meal. It's just frustrating. The way I look at it is.....if you want something bad enough, you do what it takes to educate yourself on it and take the steps towards making it happen. It's all about how bad you want it.
