Another good day in the books. I jumped on the scale Monday morning and was horrified...seriously disgusted. However, I must have drank my weight in water and flushed a lot out b/c I jumped on the scale this morning and dropped 6lbs overnight. How on earth does that happen? I've never lost that much overnight, in the exception of one terribly awful drunken night where I puked up a lung and couldn't eat for several days afterwards. I'll stop at that. Let's just say I will never drink Goldschlager (sp?) again. Ever. Never ever. Ok I got off the subject....so yeah, I lost some serious water weight over night and it was a pleasant surprise this morning. I'm trying like crazy to drink as much as possible throughout the day which I know helps big time with time between meals.
I was thinking while on the treadmill tonight. I was my leanest when I was running. It's a form of cardio that works well for me. The problem is, when I'm out of cardiovascular shape, I hate it. But once I start to build my endurance, it gets easier and that's when I start to enjoy it. I HAVE to get back to that point. I HATE working up to it, but I have to focus on how I'll feel when I get stronger. I'm not going to train for distance like I did last year, instead I want to concentrate on building speed. There is a 5K at the end of July in honor of a fallen soldier and Jon & I both plan on running it. My goal is to beat my best time of 24:32. It will be tough since I was in fantastic shape when I did that, but I figure with a good hard 6wks of training, I can make it happen. I want to focus on endurance and speed, while continuing with more serious weight training. Although, I'm trying to focus hardest on my diet, since it's the part I have the hardest time with.

For me the summer months are the hardest. It stays daylight longer and so there is more to do. I do not sleep very much because I am always going. I think it is possible to flush out your system overnight if you drink a lot of water. I am glad you are going to do another 5K because it will give you something to focus on and work towards. I always have to have that or I just sit stagnant. On to another great day!
Wow, 6lbs! Amazing how our bodies work, huh? I've never lost that much weight overnight. Good luck with your endurance training. Running has never been something I enjoyed, but I bet if I could do it better I would enjoy it more. I've always envied joggers. I get tired after running at 6.0 for a minute. I can do my HIIT at that, but I'm cursing the entire time. YAY! to have a goal! You can do it, I'm sure.
Yep I'm amazed at the 6 too! Best of luck with the run training ! Yay for you both doing it!
Well you won't get any arguments from me about the running. :o)
You can totally beat 24:32. Me, probably not for a while. But for you, you seem to be a natural at it. I'm finding that I like the longer distances better. I like some time to pace myself in the beginning then blasting at the end. I think 5Ks are more challenging for me than the 10-mile race. I know, it doesn't make sense.
Wow, 6 lbs! That's awesome!
I agree 100%. When I could run, my weight was down to 126. I want to get there again, but stuck at 134. Running I did not have to even eat right I was just thin. I want to get like that again but with muscle.
